Status report
No discussion of the week’s deaths this time ... none piqued my interest.
Besides ...
I’ve been busybusybusy with deadlines for both work and avocation. It’s an absolute certainty that I must finish up a report by COB Monday. In addition, I promised that I would hand in the annual report of my baseball research committee by Monday night, and I also have to complete a blurb or two for an upcoming publication.
Meanwhile ...
Monday night I’ll hop on the red-eye out of SeaTac, heading off to Tampa International by way of Dulles. Ah, Florida in the summer… It’s a business meeting, actually held right on the Gulf of Mexico in St. Pete Beach. Between planter’s punches and margaritas on the beach, we’ll get a great deal of important work done before I make the long trip back on Saturday (via O’Hare, I think).
Which is another way of saying ...
Peace Tree Farm will be on hiatus for the next several days, until Saturday at the earliest. I’m not taking a laptop with me, and even if I did I don’t think a dialup connection would be of much use in generating blog entries. That’s too bad, because I’d like to offer up some thoughts on the brewing Medicare controversy over drug benefits, managed care, privatization, and more of the perfidy emerging from Tom Scully, Chuck Grassley, Tommy Thompson, George W. Bush, and the whole sick crew. Well, perhaps I’ll learn something of interest at the meeting.
Gotta get cracking on filling my suitcase too.
Now where did I stow my swim trunks, sandals, sunscreen ... ??
Comments
It’s Saturday. Waiting for that perfidy report with bated breath.
I sure hope Florida offered you more sunshine than what those to the north of you enjoyed.
